Once a puzzle to growers, this grape has evolved into Chile’s signature superstar

Experience Carménère

A vine nursery mix-up in the 19th century turned out to be a happy accident for 21st-century wine lovers. Since its identification in Chilean vineyards in 1994, Carménère — the forgotten grape of Bordeaux — has evolved from Chile’s solid commercial red grape to its lauded signature varietal. Producing everything from informal, crowd-pleasing wines to cellar-worthy mater-pieces, Carménère is the star of a Chilean wine story that’s still evolving.

On the evening of Wednesday, May 30, enjoy a variety of Carménère, appetiezers, business networking and raffl e prizes while exploring the art exhibit at the Print Center.
